Cosentino Launches Dekton® Ukiyo: A Trailblazing Fluted Tile Collection by Designer Claudia Afshar
Cosentino, a global leader in sustainable surface solutions for architecture and design, proudly unveils Dekton® Ukiyo. This innovative collection features ready-to-install fluted tiles, marking a pioneering step in the industry.
Crafted in collaboration with the internationally acclaimed interior and product designer Claudia Afshar, Dekton® Ukiyo brings together the essence of luxury and the renowned durability of Dekton®. The collection, which is fully carbon neutral across its life cycle, showcases Dekton’s® sustainable attributes and superior performance.
Inspired by Japanese aesthetics and modern design principles, Dekton® Ukiyo – meaning ‘living in the moment’ – is a tribute to minimalism and present-moment awareness. It aims to stir the senses and foster a sense of tranquil well-being.
“Celebrating texture is timeless, and it’s essential across all materials, not just in fabrics,” states Claudia Afshar. “I’m deeply inspired by natural materials and strive to create spaces that are cozy, genuine, and inviting. Ukiyo is simultaneously soothing and simple, blending romantic hues and fluting with a modern and masculine edge for perfect harmony.”
Dekton® Ukiyo, with its textured surfaces, adds unique depth and character to any space, be it residential or commercial. It’s ideally suited for a wide range of vertical cladding applications, including facades, fireplaces, custom furniture, and more. The collection is available in a matte finish and two fluting styles: GV2 (grooves 5 mm wide, 3 mm deep, spaced 25 mm apart) and GV3 (grooves 4 mm wide and deep, spaced 11 mm apart), with tile dimensions of 450 mm x 3,000 mm.
