Don’t miss the wetlands, the eco-conscious vegetable patch, and the babbling mountain stream, which culminates in tranquil lily ponds, all while the intoxicating fragrances of spring surround you.
The Adamastor Moss Garden, a recent addition to Tokara, is a testament to the beauty of integration and harmony. Crafted by moss artist Gert van Tonder using local sandstone, granite, and indigenous mosses, it is a sublime sanctuary that echoes the Zen gardens of Japan yet is still distinctly Tokara.
The garden is a testament to the vision and passion of GT and Anne-Marie Ferreira, who founded Tokara over two decades ago. Their commitment to culture is clear in the abundance of art, seamlessly integrated into the property. Anne-Marie, a patron of emerging local artists, has curated a space where art and winemaking intertwine.
